Selena Marie Gomez, /s@'li?n@ /goUmez/s@-LEEn@ GoOHmez, was born on July 22, 1992. She is an American actress, singer and producer. Gomez's acting career started on the children’s television series Barney & Friends (1902-2004). When she was a teenager Gomez gained fame for her character Alex Russo in the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (1907-2012). Apart from her television show, Gomez appeared in the films Another Cinderella Story (2008), Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2009), Ramona and Beezus (2010), Monte Carlo (2011), Spring Breakers (2012), Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016), and The Dead Don't Die (2019), and voiced Mavis in the Hotel Transylvania film franchise (2012-2022). Gomez through July Moon Productions, executive produced 13 Reasons Why (2017-2022) and Living Undocumented (1919). Gomez is also the executive producer and appears in the HBO Max cooking series Selena + chef (2020-2022) and the Hulu comedy show Only Murders in the Building (21-21). Gomez received praise for her work and was awarded nominations for the Golden Globe Award. She also won an Primetime Emmy Award for producer. Gomez was a part of Selena Gomez & the Scene and released three albums. Each album was in the top 10 on the US Billboard 200. They were all certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. Rare (2020) is Gomez's third studio album, was her third consecutive top-ten album in the US. The lead single, "Lose You, to Love Me", was also her first top-ten hit in the US. Revelacion the Spanish-language EP was released in 2021. The singer was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album. She has received numerous accolades, such as being named the Woman of the Year by Billboard in 2017. In 2017, she also set fifteen Guinness World Records. Time magazine named Her one of the 100 most powerful individuals in the World in 2020. Her social media followers are vast and she's the most popular actor and musician on Instagram.
