Allison Chinchar works as a weather forecaster for CNN and HLN. She regularly appears for CNN's HLN Weekend Express and CNN International's HLN New Day Weekend. She served as a local station meteorologist at Atlanta, Nashville and Chattanooga before becoming a part of CNN. The meteorologist has covered wildfires, floods, hurricanes as well as the occurrence of blizzards. In the year 2019, she was nominated to win the Emmy award for reporting on Hurricane Dorian which was a hurricane in the Bahamas. In April 2011 she was a reporter for the super-tornado outbreak when 350 tornadoes struck the Southeastern United States within four days. Around 200 tornadoes were recorded on the 27th of April the day of the Super Tornado Outbreak. The experience she has gained as an environmental scientist given her the ability to report concerning climate change, as well as natural disasters such the eruption of volcanoes, earthquakes, and so on. Chinchar holds a bachelor's degree in Science from the Department of Atmospheric Science. She graduated from The Ohio State University. Chinchar is an active member of numerous organizations, such as The American Meteorological Society and Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
