Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian/American media critic is also a speaker. She is the founder of Feminist Frequency a website that hosts videos and commentary analyzing depictions of women's roles in popular culture. Anita Sarkeesian has been a media critic, blogger and a prestigious feminist for more than a decade. Feminist Frequency - a not-for profit website that focuses on the representation of women in pop cultural narratives is founded and is directed by Sarkeesian. Aiming to break down the stereotypes of women that have been portrayed in popular culture, she works to highlight issues related to harassment targeted at women and the other marginalized groups of people in the online environment. Sarkeesian is a graduate in the fields of social thought and political science from York University. She is an extremely well-respected and respected public speaking. Sarkeesian has given speeches at the TEDxWomen XOXO Fest and United Nations Broadband Working Group. Passionate about issues of gender identities and feminisms from at an early age, she created her own website Feminist Frequency in the year 2009 when she was studying at the University.
