Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also a writer. She was a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington, a non-profit liberal news site, is a television personality author, author and charity donor. Born in Greece Arianna Huffington immigrated to England together with her family around the age of 16. While at Cambridge University she earned a MA diploma in Economics. She was elected president at the age of 21 of the famed debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign student who was elected to this position. In the years following when she graduated, she became an influential conservative syndicated journalist. After a few years later, she started The Huffington Post which featured criticism of the present political scene. It was her celebrity that led to the recruitment of a number of well-known contributors for posting their thoughts on politics, news and the arts. Arianna got noticed after she announced in 2003 that she would candidly run as an independent candidate for the California Recall Election in order to replace Governor Davis. In addition to this she also led the Detroit Project to promote fuel-efficient vehicles. In 2009 she was recognized by Forbes as one of the top women in media gaining 12th spot on the listing and the following year, the Guardian placed her in their top 100 of the media lists. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post, and the post was made president by this group of media. The acquisition included numerous AOL properties of the time like Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli was the son of Konstantinos journalist, who is also a management consultant. Even though she was in a close friendship with both her father and mother but it was their connection that shaped her. As early as her childhood she displayed leadership abilities for which she has gained a reputation. Her move to England came at 16 to continue her education and enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. She joined The Cambridge Union college debate society throughout her college years in which she became the 3rd and only female to serve as the president. Her graduation was in 1972 and she earned an MA in Economics. The years that followed when she graduated, she worked as columnist and TV presenter. In addition, she appeared with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started making books with the editorial services of Bernard Levin.
