Taylor

Taylor Swift is that rarest of pop stars A superstar who managed to fully transition from the country music scene to becoming an enduring pop culture icon and conquering the world in the process. Swift left her heritage in the country genre like a second skin and proved she had the finest pop sensibility of her generation. Swift was the only singer/songwriter who knew how to be a part of the trending zeitgeist and take it when she went on tour. Swift's first hits, particularly her neo song in tribute to Tim McGraw, showed off her talents. But her 2008 album Fearless revealed a songwriter who was re-discovering herself and gaining a huge following. The album was hugely successful not only in the United States, where six of its singles have been certified platinum on the back of Top Ten hit songs Love Story and You Belong with Me. But it also smashed records across all over the world. Swift's second album Speak Now, released just two years after the first one, consolidated this momentum. The album propelled Swift to superstardom. Through her next three albums, Red (2012) 1989 (2004) and Reputation (2017) and Reputation, Swift's popularity grew and she was able to enter the world of pop music with a clear sense of where she was a part of. Her name was always at the top of pop even after she changed her own style on her sister albums Folklore and Evermore in 2020.
